Ezra

We are almost done with the narrative books of the Old Testament. Once we finish Nehemiah this Sunday we will be done with the history of the Israelite people. We will then move on to their poetry as well as the prophets of the time. Its cool seeing where each of the prophets fall into the course of the Israelite history. While reading Ezra we saw God's people return to a land that decades before they were taken away from, we got to see them return home. It was a happy homecoming for most, but Ezra took it pretty hard. He came home to see people had started to marry people outside the faith. They had married people who didnt love God and people who didnt even believe in God. We saw how important it is to hang out and only date people who sahre the same beliefs in God we do. It is easier for them to pull us down that it is for us to pull them up.

Temptations

So Wednesday night was fun. I kept it a secret but i counted all the steps i took on Wednesday, its was 8,922. Thats roughly 4 miles, little over actually. But during service we had our band in full swing and it was awesome. For my message I talked about Temptation and we looked at the 4 stages. Desire, Decieve, Disobey and Death. We see something that looks really good and we desire it, but what we see is decietful, it might look good, but its a trap. We then disobey God and fall into the temptation, and then we experience death.
But we also looked at the Goodness of God. And how God is constantly giving us god gifts, and if its from God, it is good.

Doggie Bag

I dont have a dog, but if I did, I would get one of these, they are awesome. And some people thought purse dog's were lame, this is a purse made out of a dog, and its fashinable enough for a man to carry!

Armor of God

So this weekend we had a guest speaker, Levi Lusko. Levi is the High School pastor and he shared about the armor of God, and how God provides us with everything we need for battle. I like how God doesn't give us flip flops to fight in, cause there have been some times when i was running around and i tripped on my flip flop, that would be really bad. But we learned that the shoe had 1 inch spikes going through it and it was wrapped in leather. Levi also talked about the Shield of Salvation. The shield isnt a wimpy puny thing, but rather something the size of a door, and if I was in battle I would want the largest shield possible. Its cool God gives us the best equipment. Levi also mentioned fighting a battle against Canadian Moose with laser beams on their antlers. That would be cool, I wonder if i could ride the moose, and then if a tree gets in my way i could laser it. But back on subject, whenever you feel you are not strong enough to do something, remember God has given you everything you need!

James 1:5-11

Well, we were able to move back to the Amped Room last night, I dont know if you looked up, but there were some new lights installed, but they didnt work, lights need light bulbs and electricity and an on off switch. But last night we talked about wisdom. Wisdom is a gift from God, and in James we learn that God wants to give us wisdom, all we have to do is have the faith to ask. When we ask in faith He will give freely.

Rummage Sale is getting in full swing, so get ready. I am excited for all the stuff that will be there. You never know what to expect there, you get excited about seeing something and then Wham that beautiful treasure you never thought you would expect. It could be a vintage Candyland game, or used pillow, or possiblely a real life duck. You never know what it could be.

Shoe Shopping?

I went shoe shopping yesterday, tried to find a new pair of shoes i didnt. I did relize that in my life i have had 3 pairs of shoes that I really liked. None of them had laces, guess I just dont have the skill level to tie my own shoes, i think i learned a rhyme some time ago about a bunny and getting chased into a hole, but that never helped. So the reason i dont wear shoes is beacuse I can't tie them.
Today I am restoring the Amped Room after it's rennovation. Everything that was on a wall is off the walls, so i have to go put it back. But the large Amped sign made of 180 pieces of paper did not survive the painters, so that will not be going back. But I can assure you something else will in due time.

2 Chronicles

In Amped today we looked at the book of 2nd Chronicles. The book's first nine chapters focused on the life of Solomon and the rest of the book looked at Divided Kingdom. We zoomed in a little more on the life of Joash. It was a bummer that Joash did what was right in the eyes of God, only when Jehoida was around. We need to always make sure we are stronger enough to stand on our own foundation of Jesus. Things will always change in our lives, but Jesus will always be our Rock! I'm hoping we get back in the Amped Room this week, it got a new paint job and a little remodel, so hopfully it will look sweet when we get back. I also hear rumors of us getting a new air hockey table in there.

New Blog

Well my Xbox has its own blog, so i figure I should have one too. It's kind of weird when I read it since its a machine, and yet it writes a journal on the internet. And it writes it dilligently everyday, that's discipline right there.
